Overview

The UT622E is the top of the UT622 line: a professional-grade handheld LCR meter that measures to 100 kHz and adds DC resistance (DCR) from 0.01 mΩ to 20 MΩ — so the same instrument characterizes a component's AC behaviour and its DC resistance, which matters for windings, contacts, and low-value parts. It measures L, C, R, Z, ESR, and D/Q at 0.1% basic accuracy.

With a 4-wire Kelvin connection, open/short correction, series/parallel modelling, and tolerance sorting, the UT622E suits power-electronics design and lab work, on a portable Li-polymer-powered platform.

Key Features

UT622E Details

AC and DC Resistance Together

Beyond the full AC LCR set, the UT622E measures DC resistance from 0.01 mΩ to 20 MΩ. Reading DCR alongside impedance and ESR characterizes windings, contacts, and low-value components more completely than an AC-only meter — a meaningful step for power-electronics work.

4-Wire Kelvin Measurement

A 4-wire Kelvin connection separates the drive and sense paths so lead and contact resistance don't corrupt the reading — essential for low-impedance components where milliohm-level errors matter. Open and short correction nulls fixture and lead effects before a measurement run.

Full Parameter Set

Beyond L, C, and R, the meter reads impedance (Z), equivalent series resistance (ESR), dissipation factor (D), and quality factor (Q), with series or parallel equivalent-circuit modelling and impedance phase from −179.9° to 179.9° — the parameters needed to characterize a part, not just read its nominal value.

Sorting & Logging

A tolerance-comparison function sorts parts pass/fail from 1% to 20% bands at up to 20 measurements per second, suited to incoming inspection and small-batch QC. Results log to 500 groups and transfer over USB.

Portable Build

A 2.8-inch color display and a rechargeable Li-polymer pack good for about 8 hours make the UT622E a capable bench and lab instrument that travels.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the UT622E add over the UT622C?

DC resistance (DCR) measurement from 0.01 mΩ to 20 MΩ, alongside the same 100 kHz AC LCR capability.

Why measure DCR as well as ESR?

DCR characterizes windings, contacts, and low-value parts at DC, complementing the AC parameters for a fuller picture.

What is its basic accuracy?

0.1% basic accuracy across the LCR measurement set.
